Dangar Island is a beautiful place to escape to, so we hope many of you will choose to make a weekend of it.
If you plan on arriving on the Friday night let us know as we will be grabbing a meal at the bowling club at some stage.
We will also be having a barbeque breakfast late on the Sunday morning. Please let us know if you'll be around for that so we can make sure we have enough bacon & eggs.
Hawkesbury River Real Estate have a limited number of properties available for weekend rental on Dangar Island and Wobby Beach. 'Across the Waters' is another option. First in best dressed. Please note that there have been some problems in the past with noise from holiday rentals disrupting the tranquility of the island and upsetting locals. At one point holiday rentals were to be banned altogether so please bear this in mind!
If you're feeling more adventurous (and have spare cash) a houseboat is also a good option. It will allow you to explore the beautiful river system (and maybe make a few dollars ferrying people to and from the wedding). 'Holidays Afloat' are a popular option, as are 'Ripples'.
There are holiday rentals in Brooklyn as well as serviced apartments. There are also rooms available at the Angler's Rest pub (which can though get pretty rowdy in the evenings - the local Oyster farmers start drinking early most days). Don't forget that if you stay in Brooklyn you will need to find your way off the island at some point.
